Q. What is sizzlecams?

Sizzlecams is a new ranking list to bring the hottest webcam sites together and help bring them new visitors. Popularity is key

Q. How does it work?
|

Members of sizzlecams are provided with a special link which brings visitors from their site to here. When a visitor has
clicked that link, (which takes them to the front page of sizzlecams) then clicks the link to enter the site, a vote
is cast for the member. That is called a vote 'IN' and is what you see in the 'IN' field on the list. Members are then
ranked according to the amount of 'IN' hits they accumulate.

Q. Does the person at number 1 deserve to be there?

Probably. There are several methods of cheat protection and detection on sizzlecams.

Q. How often can I vote for people?
|
|
As often as you like, but only one hit 'IN' from the same computer will be counted in any 30 minute period.

Q. When do the listing pages update?
|
|
Every 20 minutes of every day.
|
|
Q. Why does the vote count suddenly go to zero sometimes?
|
|
The list is reset every 1st and 15th of the month (as of 15th September, 2002), at one minute past midnight GMT. This is to ensure that new
members get a fair chance, and to keep competitiveness flowing! The rerank at 0:20 will reflect the first 19 minutes of voting in that working week.

Q. Where do I get my voting link / How do I do a popup?

Log in to the Members Area on the left to obtain your code under the "What's My Link?" option.

Q. Am I allowed to open the sizzlecams voting gateway automatically?
|
|
Yes you are, because surfers still have to click the link on the front page before your vote is registered. However, any windows popped
up MUST be fully viewable and scrollable, so that the list can still be browsed. If you would like info on how to use pop ups, log in to your
member's area and select the "What's My Link?" option.

Q. Can I use blind links?
|
|
Yes you may, as long as the resulting page is fully scrollable and viewable.

Q. Can I use different banners to the ones you have?
|
|
Yes, although your conversion ratio (hits to votes) may suffer with the surfer closing the voting gateway immediately out of confusion. Experiment with what is right for you.

Q. I keep voting for myself but the votes never go up, why?
|
|
Naughty naughty! The list only counts one hit per unique IP address in any 24 hour period.
|
|
Q. Isn't this list going to be full of cheats?
|
|
It shouldn't be, because the voting gateway page makes clear to the surfer that they are actively voting for the site, and the
unique IP count (plus other prevention methods) ensure the list is cheat proof. Anyone suspected of large scale cheating will be
investigated, and deleted without notice if true.
